Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-centered Bilingual Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations in a remote healthcare environment. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, and healthcare systems by managing patient communications, scheduling, insurance verification, and other operational tasks that ensure a smooth clinical workflow.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable with healthcare administrative systems, and able to communicate professionally with both English- and Spanish-speaking patients.
Key Responsibilities
The Bilingual Medical Assistant will be responsible for supporting daily operational activities, including but not limited to:
Patient Coordination
Schedule, reschedule, and manage patient appointments
Send appointment reminders and confirm upcoming visits
Register and onboard new patients into the system
Communicate with patients via phone, email, or messaging platforms
Insurance & Administrative Support
Perform online insurance eligibility verification
Manage pre-authorizations and referral processes
Coordinate medication refill requests according to provider protocols
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Communication Management
Handle patient phone calls and respond to inquiries professionally
Manage email correspondence
Process and organize incoming and outgoing faxes
Language Support
Qualifications
Required
Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
Experience working in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare administrative role
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable using computers and online systems
Ability to work remotely and independently
Availability during Pacific Standard Time working hours
Preferred
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) systems
Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes
Previous experience supporting telehealth or remote healthcare operations
Note: EHR/EMR and HIPAA training will be provided.
